Matthew 5:1-12
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

“Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Eric Jones
Eric Jones is committed to the integration of faith and social justice as reflected in his course work; conversations with faculty; leadership activities at HUSD; and his summer internship related-programs. Recently, he completed a summer internship at the Tuskegee University’s Center for Bioethics Summer Program. Jones seeks to understand how social issues/disparities, especially in relation to the environment and health, affects people of color throughout the Diaspora.
Jonathan Wade
Jonathan Wade is serving as an assistant pastor, while a full-time student. He served as a consultant for MenCanStopRape. He facilitates a middle school mentorship program, which is a part of the organization's primary prevention strategy, to teach young boys to demonstrate positive masculine behavior to prohibit sexual violence against women. http://www.mencanstoprape.org
