The Lord has shown you what is good.

Degree Programs

MDiv
The ​M.Div. degree is Trinity’s main degree offering, with required course work in Ethics/Church in Society, World Religions/Interreligious Relations, Racial Awareness Training, Spanish for Ministry, etc.
MTS/JD
The Master of Theological Study / Juris Doctorate joint degree is offered with Capital University and integrates ​theology and legal studies to equip alumni to serve in churches, faith-based service organizations, NGOs, etc.
MTS
Students in Trinity's Master of Theological Studies degree have the option to concentrate in "Church in the World" and "African American Studies."
DMin
​D.Min. degree offered in conjunction with the Methodist Theological School in Ohio offers concentrations in “Leadership for Transformational Change” and “Ecology, Justice and Ministry.”  MTS degree has

Courses Integrating Faith and Service

  • “Feminist Biblical Interpretation” examines the politics of biblical interpretation and the ways it has been used to resist or support women’s struggle for liberation.
  • “Global Issues for a Global Church” explores the quest for eco-justice in the face of climate change, globalization and neo-liberal economics, justice for women and peacemaking.
  • “The Church and Political Ethics” focuses on the church’s ethical responsibility in the sociopolitical arena as a dimension of its mission and ministry to the world.”
  • “Disability Ministry” exposes and orients students to the ministry of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the local church.
  • “Introduction to Urban Ministry” surveys theological, cultural, governmental, and political facets of ministry in the city.

Field Education Connecting Faith and Justice:

Trinity’s unique internship program for M.Div. students requires two years of service in a ministry context during which time students do academic work via electronically mediated education and intensive cohort training.

“Leadership in Context” (three semesters) prior to internship for M.Div. students and as part of field work for MA programs teaches students to read and interpret local contexts from theological, sociological, political, and demographic perspectives.
